The Fairfax Art League was founded in 1986 by six artists exhibiting their work as a group in the John C. Wood complex. In 1987 the six artists, after much consideration about the name adopted The Fairfax Art League (FAL). League was selected since League, by definition, is a covenant between persons, and FAL's covenant is to promote art in the community. In 1988, the League applied for incorporation through the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, which in February 1989 resulted in the League incorporation as a Non Profit Organization. In the years since its inception the League's membership has grown to over 100 members. The Fairfax Art League (FAL) is a vibrant organization comprised of local and regional artists coming together to celebrate the arts.
This series is presented on the 3rd Thursday morning in the month, by the Friday Morning Music Club, Inc., a community of music lovers and musicians dedicated to promoting classical music throughout the metropolitan area. On the third Thursday of the month from October through April, except December, they host their performances at Old Town Hall at 12:00pm. Please visit www.fmmc.org for more information.
