2020 Community Events 

In this time of increased concern over the COVID-19, the health and safety of our community is our top priority. Although many of our events have been canceled, please check below to see what we are still able to run under CDC guidelines.

Santa Video

The holiday season is here and Santa's Official Nice List of 2020 is complete! He checked it twice and is preparing videos from his workshop for all those who have been good this year! Though he will miss seeing everyone in person, he is doing his part and “Santa-tizing” while he works with his little helpers. 

Please join us in this new magical experience by signing up to receive a customized video from Santa Claus himself. By filling out Santa’s Letter and sending it back to us at specialevents@fairfaxva.gov, he will be able to personalize and send a message to each and every child before Christmas Eve.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED – only 50 spots available. Each child has to be registered.

 Fee: $5 per child

Santa is providing these wonderful videos to raise money for childhood cancer research with St. Baldrick's Foundation. If you would like to donate directly, .

 

Santa reading event

Bắn cá bầuCome gather around the TV on Christmas Eve and listen while Santa reads a classic holiday story, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, to families all around. Cozy up and feel the holiday spirit as you listen to Santa bring cheer into your homes from Channel 12 at 6PM.

Drive-By Pumpkin Patch

Bắn cá bầuDrive on Lion Run at Fairfax High School to view the various carved pumpkins on display, Oct 30th from 6 - 9 pm. Traffic is one way, please enter via Old Lee Hwy. Donations will be accepted for non-perishable/dry goods for A Place to Stand program.

Trick or Treat Trail

Bắn cá bầuDressed in your Halloween best, stop by the City of Fairfax Police Department parking lot for our first ever Trick or Treat drive-thru! Together the City of Fairfax Police Department and Parks & Recreation will be handing out candy and giveaways (while supplies last) on Oct. 31 from 10am - 1pm.

SPOOKtacular Science Show

Come learn from a mad scientist, who will teach the little ghouls and goblins the magic behind Halloween. Bubbling potions, color-changing fire and more experiments will be showcased in the spirit of Halloween. Experiments performed by Mad Science of DCBắn cá bầu. This is a free event for the public but pre-registration is required . Join us Oct 31 -  1:30pm at Veterans Amphitheater next to City Hall.

  Join us for an outdoor movie night in the park.
Marked circles in the grass will be provided to aid in the practice of social distancing, please pick a circle and keep your group inside during the film.
Masks are encouraged.
